G’day, it’s Ol’ Gal again with something that’s been buggin me. Last night I was out tuning the tractormech, she don’t run so good no more since that tunnelworm swallowed her whole. I guess being digested didn’t sit well with her, the tunnelworm neither for that matter - found the damn thing dead not two miles from the house, backed up worse than an outhouse in winter.
Anyway, there I was taking a wrench to ol’ Eradicator 9000. I had her up in the air on one of those fancy magnesis suspenders, pulling apart her magnesis cannon. And it dawned on me, how do these things even work? I know the basics of course, you plug the catalytic fluxinator into the exploderjiggit and give it a right thump with the wrench. Then you run real quick if it starts buzzing angry like you stood in a nest of blood hornets.
But how does it work? Magnesis that is. The cannon fires a ripper of a cannonball, then reels it back in and fires it again. What if it gets stuck? The suspenders lift only the tractormech off the ground. Why not the wrench?
I got an old magnesis shotgun out back that’s been fired so many times now the slug has turned to a pile of shrapnel. It still yanks every shred back into the barrel though and will blast a darkhound to bits at ten feet just like it did when it were new.
But I can’t have it fetch me bloody tray of cookies.
